Why Your Case Interviews Keep Falling Flat, Even After 50+ Practice Cases

Why Your Case Interviews Keep Falling Flat, Even After 50+ Practice Cases

I don't run you through another generic case and call it feedback. I score you across all 7 case interview modules, then show you exactly which ones are costing you the offer.

Who This Is this Session For — And Who Will Get the Most Out of It

This is for high achievers actively interviewing or prepping for MBB, Tier 2, or Big 4 offers who are past the basics and need a real diagnostic, not another rep. I guarantee you'll leave this session with at least one specific, actionable skill unlocked in your case interview toolkit. If you don't, I'll run a follow-up session with you at no charge.

Career Coaching Session - 1:1 session

Precision, not volume

Most candidates think 100 cases = ready. I've worked with people who ran 100+ cases and still couldn't drive one like a consultant. You'll leave knowing exactly which of the 7 modules is holding you back, not guessing.

Ramin J. Imani - Resume and CV review

Scored against the real bar

You're rated against hundreds of candidates I've worked with, the same benchmark used to judge top 1% performers. No inflated feedback, no participation trophy.

Ramin J. Imani - Career Coaching and Positioning Session

A roadmap, not a verdict

You get a detailed post-session report (3–4 pages) breaking down every module: what worked, what didn't, and what to fix next. If you come back for future sessions, we track your score session over session so you can see the actual trajectory.

This is NOT for you if you're looking for generic, motivational advice or another case to pad your practice count instead of a direct read on where you actually stand.

If you’re serious about fixing what’s not working, this is the next step

Ramin J. Imani - Career Coaching Session

Why Most Case Interview Advice Doesn't Work, and What Actually Does

Most candidates don't fail case interviews because they lack ability. They fail because they're following generic advice that sounds right on paper but doesn't translate into offers.

They run more cases, drill more frameworks, grind more practice problems, but without knowing which specific skill is actually broken, and without a personalized read on their own performance versus a real top 1% bar.

By scoring your performance across all 7 case interview modules, this session replaces guessing with a direct, structured diagnosis of exactly where you stand, and exactly what to fix next.

This is based on what actually gets candidates offers at MBB, Tier 2, and Big 4 firms, not generic case prep advice.

  • Fixing the specific module that's actually costing you the offer, not just running another case

  • Learning to drive a case like a consultant — not just solve it

  • Getting scored against a real benchmark, not vague "good job" feedback

  • Building a documented, trackable record of your progress — not one-off sessions that leave you guessing

If you want to stop guessing and find out exactly what's broken…

Landed offer at Kearney

What really gave me confidence in the beginning of the coaching and later cohort program was the level of energy and rigour that Ramin had in his coaching with all mentees in the program. Not even comparable to "external" practice partners on other platforms like Leland, Preplounge.

— Anna K.
Landed offer at Mckinsey, EYP, Roland Berger

I came from a non-traditional background, no business degree, no MBA and breaking into MBB and Tier 2 was really a central priority in my career all along. That is why I decided to seek professional coaching with Ramin, started with his Diagnosis session and then later moved to his cohort program.

— David M.
Landed offer at Strategy&

Without Ramin's help I wouldn't have succeeded in landing offers at Strategy& and a few others later on. His coaching and program helped me grasp and internalize how to approach any case using first-principles thinking, something I carried with myself for landing other offers later on.

— Rachel P.
Landed offer at Monitor Deloitte

After I had just a few hours 1:1 coaching with Ramin, it was cleared to me that none of the generic case prep resources out there can replace the rigour Ramin put in for every single of his clients, he goes extra miles to uncovered nuances in my performance that was not even clear to me, communication, how I carry myself in stressful situation, and problem solving mindset

— Amir R.
Landed offers at Bain and ADL

As a non-traditional candidate, it took a while for me to grasp the fundamental around case solving, communication. But Ramin's patience and coaching coupled with the accountability partners in cohort program, made it so easy to land two offers.

— Alison B.
Landed offer at Mckinsey and Roland Berger

I was a career switcher and I wanted to break into Tier 2 and ultimately MBB firms, so I wanted a foolproof coaching program that guarantees success. Working with Ramin and his cohort coaching program was no-brainer

— Walter R.
Land offer at EYP

Ramin's coaching changed my career for ever, as a non-traditional candidate I thought I was stuck in Tech implementation for the rest of my life. But understanding how to re-position my profile, get referral and then how to approach case interviews using the first-principles thinking with a proper communication is the only reason behind my consulting offer from EYP, after four past rejections!"

— Alex T.
Landed offer from BCG

The structured and personalized interview preparation made all the difference for me, as a non-traditional candidate. The mindset of capability building, rather memorization, and continuous practicing using accountability partners as well as Ramin availability was the thing that unlocked me to get offer from BCG

— Darius M.
Landed double offer McKinsey and EYP

I had thought I knew how to approach case interviews after 55+ peer case interviews and a few hours of paid coaches. But getting mentored Ramin has opened my eyes on how generic are the resources on public prep platforms, no wonder the >95% rejection rate.

— Vakil O.
Landed offer KPMG, SKP and BCG

Ramin's coaching helped me to think differently on my way to MBB, as an international engineering student from a non-target school with a low GPA, with the help of Ramin we made a deliberate choice, I landed an internship at KPMG then a full time offer at L.E.K and in two years time I landed an offer from BCG. I fully recommend Ramin's mentoring to anyone who wants to break into MBB. Ramin is in this for the long game and helps you to transform your career.

— Hamid B.
Landed offer from Strategy& and ADL

Ramin's coaching changed my view on how to approach case interviews, how to approach it like a consultant, instead of memorizing I started to share insights. I am super thankful for Ramin's coaching, and I couldn't have received double offer from Strategy& and ADL. Thank you!

— Tadey S.
Landed offer from Bain

From day one Bain was the target for me but as the non-traditional candidate, without MBA it was the challenge of my career the personalized and step-by-step coaching of Ramin, from networking, referral, case prep using first-principles thinking opened my eyes on what is possible for me beyond what I could imagine.

One Session. A Real Read on Where You Stand

Most candidates don't lose offers because they're unprepared. They lose them because nobody's told them, specifically, what's not working. You keep running cases and walking away with the same vague sense that you're "close." Meanwhile the clock on cooling periods keeps ticking.

Built around your target firm, this 60-minute session is split between a 10–20 minute fit interview and a case interview covering the remaining time, weighted toward whichever you need most:

  • A fit interview conversation, read the way a real interviewer would read your story and presence

  • A live case, driven the way it actually plays out in the room, not a scripted walkthrough

  • Feedback as we go, so you're correcting in real time instead of hearing it all at the end

  • A full score across all 7 case and fit modules, so "something felt off" becomes a specific, named gap

  • A written report (3–4 pages) laying out what held up, what didn't, and where to focus next

I guarantee you walk away with at least one specific, actionable skill unlocked in your case interview toolkit. If you don't, we do a follow-up session at no charge.

Book Your Mock Case Interview

If you want a precise, scored read on exactly what's holding your case interview performance back, and a concrete plan to fix it before your next elite consulting firm interview, this 60-minute session is where we find out.

1. What's the difference between this and the Consulting Offer Diagnosis™?

The Diagnosis™ is a 45-minute session on your overall approach: positioning, resume, and where you're actually stuck in the process, whether that's referrals, interviews, or conversions. The Mock Case Interview is a 60-minute working session focused specifically on your case and fit performance, scored across all 7 case interview modules with a live case and a written report. If you don't know yet where you're stuck, start with the Diagnosis. If you already know it's your case performance and you want a scored read on exactly which module is holding you back, book the Mock Case Interview directly.

2. How is this different from a mock session on PrepLounge, Leland, CaseBasix, CaseCoach, or MyConsultingCoach?

Those platforms solve different problems. PrepLounge and CaseCoach are built around peer practice rooms and case libraries: you're often paired with another candidate, and your feedback depends on who you happen to get that day. Leland is an open marketplace where anyone with consulting experience can list themselves as a coach, pricing runs anywhere from $100 to $650 an hour, and there's no standard way to compare one session against another.

Before you book on a marketplace, you'd need to figure out something a profile page won't tell you. Does this person have an actual model for developing your skill set, or are they just someone smart enough to crack a case themselves? Have they seen the specific ways a candidate gets stuck and actually pulled someone out of it? Have they led a team, managed people, sat on the other side of a real client engagement? Those are the things that let someone develop you, not just quiz you. Landing an offer is the finish line, but what actually gets you there is becoming someone who thinks and communicates like a consultant, not someone who memorized how to survive one interview.

CaseBasix is a self-study video course and question bank, with 1:1 coaching sold separately as an add-on. MyConsultingCoach packages hours with ex-MBB coaches but, like the others, doesn't score you against a fixed benchmark from session to session.

None of them run every candidate through the same standardized rubric. I worked at Roland Berger and Monitor Deloitte, and received offers from Kearney, Strategy&, EY-Parthenon, Accenture, and Oliver Wyman across 11+ years in the industry. I made that jump without a business degree, coming from academia, and built this system myself because nothing generic was built for someone starting where I started. I've since coached 60+ candidates to offers using the same 7-module scoring system every time. You're not hoping you got a good coach that day. You're being measured against the same bar every candidate I've worked with gets measured against, and you get that in writing.

3. Why not just use an AI case interview tool?

Use one if you want more reps. Tools like Road to Offer or CaseBasix's AI drills are fine for building volume and getting quick feedback on your structure, and I'd rather you practice with one of those than not practice at all. Even the companies building these tools admit where they stop working: none of them can read your executive presence, your composure when a partner pushes back, or whether you sound like a peer in the room or a student reciting a framework back.

That's usually the real gap, not the math or the structure. AI is genuinely useful for something else, though. Building fluency in industries you don't know well yet. Ask ChatGPT or Claude to walk you through how a hospital system makes money, or what actually moves the needle in telecom, and you'll show up to that case sounding like you've spent time there. Use it to build range. Just don't mistake that for a human reading how you actually perform under pressure.

That's the gap I fill for high achievers serious about breaking into elite consulting firms. In a market full of tools that can hand you a case, what's harder to find is someone who's actually sat on the other side of the table, at the firm, and can tell you exactly what's not landing and why.

4. Is this just a funnel into the bigger program?

No. This is a standalone session. You leave with a written report and at least one specific, actionable fix, whether or not you ever talk to me again. If your gap turns out to be bigger than one session can close, I'll tell you that directly, and the Program is one option, not the only one.

5. Do you work with Tier 2 and Big 4 candidates, or only MBB?

All of it. MBB, Tier 2 (Oliver Wyman, EY-Parthenon, Monitor Deloitte, Roland Berger, Kearney, L.E.K., Strategy&, Arthur D. Little), and Big 4 strategy arms. The session is built around your specific target firm's case style, not a generic template.

The bar and rigor at MBB is higher than the rest, that's fair. But few coaches have actually sat inside all of these processes themselves. Most landed one or two offers out of school and treat that as their credential to coach everyone else. Going through it across 7 different firms over 11+ years is what actually lets me tell you how you're coming across in a case or a fit interview, not just whether I personally passed once.

5. What if the session doesn't help?

You'll leave with at least one specific, actionable skill unlocked, or I run a follow-up session with you at no charge.
